Free Public WiFi Taking Customers Away From Local Businesses
My husband and I own and operate a computer store and provide internet services. We have been in business since 1995. Our city has now decided to, in conjunction with a local nonprofit foundation, provide free wireless internet for the town. We have tried to work with both parties to help install equipment, provide technical support, anything to be included in the project. We felt if they were i...

Anyone else tired of The Home Depot?
I'm completely done with Home Depot. Why? Because they are negligent of good business practices to the point of it being criminal. Anyone out there a Head Cashier that gets paid LESS than the cashiers they are being charged with overseeing? All of mine are! When your turnover rate is at 86%, and includes people who have been with the company in excess of 5 or 10 YEARS of their lives, that sho...

Get OFF the damn cell phones!
I am sick to death of these socially-backward morons expecting "excellent customer service" when they blatantly ignore the help we're trying to provide so they can continue their useless cell phone conversations! If it can't wait, then you can wait to get in line. I've started to refuse to help a person who won't get off their phone, at least until their "important business" is finally at an end...

Vending Machines
Why is it vending machines put the fragile things like Butterfingers on high shelves while soft unbreakable items like cinnamon buns are on the lowest shelf in the machine. It's nearly impossible to get an unbroken candy bar. Also, why have two slots full of Paydays and no Butterfingers.

Why isn't there more to do in Lufkin?
My husband has finally gotten the whole weekend off, WOOOO HOOOO! BUUUUUT to do anything that is worth spending money on, we must travel outside of Lufkin. Why is this? As far as restaurants, there are plenty, yes. We have a golf course, but we don't play golf. The bowling alley is a joke here and the mall has sizzled down to nothing but clothes. What else am I forgetting? OH LASER TAG- yea, ummm ...

For the love of all things Holy...just be honest about it...
I don't mind looking for a new job. I really don't but, I'd like a little notice. The higher ups at our company are systematically "phasing out" most of the jobs for my position in the state. I don't see why they can't just be honest. They know that we have families to support, yet they wait until the last possible second to tell you that you need to go someplace else to work. It's not just privat...

Wal-Mart’s Crappy Inventory Management System
Today I decided that I was going to Wal-Mart to buy a new video game and a coupe of controllers for my new game console. I get there and look high and low for a particular game without any luck. So I go to ask a sales person for help in finding the elusive game. After waiting in line for about 7 minutes I now have the sales person’s attention. Keep in mind at this point I am the only customer in s...
